Always be prepared for what God has for you

I’ve learned a lot of things in Hawaii and I’ve been able to do a lot of things and have had experiences that I never thought I would have.

I’ve learned more about what it means to serve God wherever you are and in whatever area He has called you to at the time.  An example of this would be this last week we had sports camp. I didn’t really have a spot.  I started off doing arts and crafts and bible study and ended up going and kind of helping the cheerleading group.  I learned the cheers with them although sometimes I felt like probably they might not have been sure why I was learning them.  But I didn’t know at the time what God was preparing me for.   On Wednesday the Tennessee people went on a tourist day and I was given the opportunity to coach cheerleading by myself.  It went well because I had learned the cheers and was prepared.  I’m thankful that God provided me with that opportunity and with that experience.  He is always helping me and preparing me for His call on my life!

I am thankful for what God has taught me here.  I am thankful for everything I’ve learned here.  I am thankful for every moment here, even the really challenging ones where I just wanted to pull my hair out and wondered why I came.  Because it has all helped me to become more like Christ and helped me to grow.  It has stretched and challenged me.  Sometimes it’s showed me areas and things about my life I don’t like.  It’s also helped me to work on changing those things.  One of the things I’ve learned here that I think is really important is now matter where we think we might be in our walk with Christ and in just our growth in different areas in our life all that matters is that we keep on improving and keep growing.  Even if you think sometimes you are going backwards sometimes all that matters is when you realize it get up and dust your feet off and try again.  Always keep going forward and work towards becoming more like what God wants you to be for His Glory! I was reading in 1 Thessalonians the other day and saw something I didn’t see before.  It was saying that we are in the light and that is why we can be prepared for the return of Christ! We do not have to be like the man who doesn’t know when the thief will come but we can keep watch and wait for Christ to come! The reason the nonbeliever or somebody who is not a Christian cannot be ready is because they are in the dark.  Let us always be ready, putting on the armor of God, praying in the spirit at all times and be ready for when Christ returns! Let us seek to know God more moment by moment.  I can’t help but think of my mentor Mary Kaye Wonner who wakes up everyday asking God to order her steps!  Moment by moment seeking His face...to know Him is to love Him and to love Him is to want to know Him more!! Let’s always remember to share the gospel so as many people as can can join us in the kingdom of God!! Let us run the race faithfully so we can win the heavenly prize!! Much aloha and praying for y’all!
