Southwestern and Dr. Adam Greenway

I am thankful for what God is doing at Southwestern and I am thankful that he brought Adam Greenway to Southwestern.  It almost makes me sad I’m almost graduating haha. I think I might almost have to finish with my MDiv missions degree after I graduate still haha.  I’m thankful for his confidence in the Bible and the suffiency of Scripture.  I’m thankful for his heart for God and his passion for the gospel and his desire for our seminary to be a seminary that sends students out on mission.  I’m thankful for how he talked about how we can learn things from people we don’t agree with.  Today was an exciting day in the life of Southwestern.  To hear the president speak on his beliefs and desires to see the school grow and to see his heart and love for God was a blessing.   I love how he talked about how we are so concerned with isms but the one ism we should be really concerned with is evangelism! I love how he took a stand saying as long as he is presid...

Walking with Jesus and the beauty of Hawaii

When I was in Hawaii this past summer I tried to go to the beach as much as possible but I definitely made it my goal to go at least on Sunday afternoon if I didn’t go at any other time.  There’s something about being near the ocean and on the beach that makes me feel closer to God.  There’s something about looking at the beauty of God’s creation and just being there right in the middle of it that makes you feel closer to God.  I don’t understand how people cannot know there is a God and how they cannot be amazed at His goodness when they see the sunset and see the beauty and magnificence of the ocean.  This was a video I took in Hawaii.  I believe it was when I was at Sunset Beach. Y’all I love being outside and seeing God’s creation.  It’s so peaceful and beautiful.  Remember how much God loves you y’all and if you haven’t surrendered your life to Him, it’s never too late! If you don’t know how ask me or somebody else!! Aloha! Aloha ke Akua and A ...

Beauty in the brokenness

It’s easy to feel lonely and depressed sometimes.  Sometimes it’s easy to feel like you’re invisible , like nobody really cares or sees you and lately I’ve felt like that.  Sometimes life is hard and you may not know why you are going through the things you are going through.  Sometimes it’s hard to see and know what the future will look like.  But the thing to remember is God is always there for you and always loves you.  No matter what anybody else may think about you the only thing that matters is if God is pleased with you and if He is getting the glory and honor in your life.  Life isn’t just about the future or your goals or dreams or whatever is going to happen.  Although those things do matter and I believe that God does care about our desires because He gave them to us.  I believe that God made us each the way He wanted for us to serve Him in a way that nobody else can.  The thing that matters though is is not the past or the future ...

What God has been teaching me

Tonight I went to the praise and worship night at Southwestern.  We were having a time of thankfing God for what He had done in our life. We were meeting in groups of 3 people and talking about that and then praying about it.  The first girl went and then the other girl wanted me to go first but I told her I was still thinking.  She talked about how God has taught her that her life wasn’t about her and that she needed to be dependent on Him and realize that God is all she needed. I can’t remember really exactly what she said but it was my heart too.  Everything she said I felt like I could sort of relate to.  Through her God reminded me that my life isn’t about me.  Sometimes I get depressed and lonely and I can feel invisible or like people don’t see me but none of that really matters.  God reminded me that He needs to be enough for me me and that He needs to be the only one I desire to please and glorify.  No matter what you are going through or...
