Reflection on my time in Hawaii
As my time here in Hawaii is coming to a close I’m thankful for everything that has happened to me. I’m thankful for the really good times and I’m thankful for the really challenging times because they have all challenged me and helped me to become more like Christ. I feel like I will be forever changed by my time here. It has helped me to reach a new level of growth. It has helped me to continue to grow in areas God has been working on in my life and has helped me to see more clearly the things that He wants me to change. It has helped me to see how selfish I really am and how self-centered I can be. It has helped me to learn how to really serve people. It has helped me to see people through the eyes of Christ and how to love people more. It has helped me to be more independent but also more dependent on Christ. It has shown me the importance of seeking Christ more and spending time with Him. It has helped me to listen to people better and to think more about the words I say and what they mean and how I am going to be accountable for what I say and do. I’ve done a lot of things I shouldn’t have in my life and not done things I should have and when I compare myself to other people sometimes (which I shouldn’t) I sometimes see that they maybe are better than me (more loving, more patient, more smart, etc). But I am not comparing myself to them. I am comparing myself to Christ and He is faithful and will make me into the person He wants me to be. I am thankful for His patience in my life and His grace and forgiveness and Hos love. He continues to love me even when I do again the thing I didn’t want to do or fail the thing I wanted to do. Let us continue to go to God every day and ask Hin to forgive us and spend time loving Him and continuing to get to know Him. If we spend time with Him every day He will continue to show us how much He loves us and things of this world won’t matter as much; only the things of Christ will. Whenever you feel condemned y’all first of call confess your sins to Christ and confess whatever it is you are feeling. Remember there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). Let us continue to run the race so that we may win the prize in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:12-14) Much Aloha and Mahalo for your prayers!!
I am grateful that God has provided this experience for you. He gives us the desires of our heart as we delight ourselves in Him (paraphrased). I know that He has a plan for your life and He has given you this opportunity to grow in your Christian life. God bless you as you continue to "run the race" for Your Heavenly Father.
ReplyDeleteSounds like God really used you and used the church there to edit and help you grow. I'm so glad you had the opportunity to step outside of your comfort zone and we're able to witness His Grace and mercy. I know you'll miss the family of God there in Hawaii, but I'm sure you made lifelong friendship that will remain far after you are gone. I pray the Lord will bring you back one day and you'll see the fruits of your labor. Prayers for traveling mercies and His lead in your life as you start a new journey.
