Decisions...waiting on God

On Sunday my pastor, Pastor Bob Pearle, was talking about how there are many decisions you have to make and how the different decisions can have different outcomes in your life.  His main point was that the most important decision you can make is to confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.  It made me start thinking about different decisions I’ve made in my life though.  It made me think of the different women God brought in my life advising me maybe not to make a certain decision because they could see patterns in my life.  Thinking about that could make me depressed maybe and think if only if I had made that decision this would have happened (whatever this is) or this wouldn’t have happened.  One of my greatest regrets is leaving Cana.  My friend told me she didn’t think I should but I did anyways.  Because of that I wasn’t able to really see Kaycee near the end of her life and I wasn’t able to be there for her.  I know she had people who were there for her but I wish I had been there for her too.  She was always thinking of other people and when I saw her for the last time she was asking about me and thinking about me.  She would literally be in the hospital and she would be telling me something God wanted me to hear.  I guess I can think about those times that I made decisions I wish I hadn’t of or I can move forward from this moment on living my life listening to and obeying God moment by moment.  Maybe the decisions we look back at and we think are so big aren’t so big after all.  Maybe it’s God’s grace saying I’m going to give you these options-neither are necessarily better than the other,  but I’m going to let you decide what you want to do.  As long as it isn’t going against the Bible or what you believe God is telling you to do then I think it is ok. Like my pastor said the most important decision you can make is confessing Jesus Christ as your savior, proclaiming Him to the world, and living moment by moment following after God!  Let’s follow after Him with all we have!

“If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15

“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;” Deuteronomy 30:19

  1. I like the part of your conclusion that says "as long as it isn't going against the Bible or what you believe God is telling you to do".
