Thanksgiving
I have been on quite the journey finishing my degree st Southwestern and I am thankful for every bit of it. I am thankful for how it has grown me and challenged me and has prepared me for what God wants me to be. When I first came to Southwestern I wanted to do music or missions-I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. I remember meeting Dr. Catanzaro and introducing myself to him never knowing what impact he would have on my life or that I would be able to take classes with him. I’m thankful today for Dr. Babler. I’m thankful for his family and how they have loved and cared for me. I’m thankful that a few years ago he invited me to have thanksgiving with their family and that they invited me today to have Thanksgiving with their family. I’m thankful for the way they have included me as part of their family when my family is so far away. I’m thankful for how they have lived life with me, how they are so real and genuine, and how I have had the opportunity to learn so much about life and how to be more like Christ from them. I’m thankful for their willing and serving spirit. I’m thankful for his belief in me and encouragement in my life as I have been studying Biblical Counseling. I’m thankful to be able to go to a school like Southwestern and to be able to study under professors like Dr. John Babler, Dr. Dale Johnson, and Dr. Frank Catanzaro. I never would have imagined that I would be studying Biblical Counseling now or that God would have given me the opportunities that He has given me. When I first started studying Biblical Counseling I would counsel people with issues that were not so in-depth and I would not always know what to tell them. Now God has put me in situations where I am able to counsel people more in depth. I am always thankful when the Holy Spirit gives me the exact thing to say in those situations. God is faithful and if you trust in Him you never know where He will take you! It may be hard sometimes but God takes even our pain and He comforts us and uses us to help others! That is the glorious thing about living in the body of Christ! The things we struggle with the most are the things we can help others with and in doing so point them to Christ! Lord help us to be a witness and a light in this darkened world and to point others to You!!
What a great testimony of God's love and direction in our lives. I am thankful of these people who have inspired you in your journey.
