Changes and why you can’t go back

Sometimes I think about the past and think I wish I could go back to this time or I wish I could go back to this day.  Sometimes I think what would have happened if had made this decision as opposed to another decision.  What would have happened if I would have stayed in the place I was at or in instead of moving forward and going somewhere else.  Why didn’t I see what I had when I had it and how good it was? But truth is we cannot go back and even if we could it would most likely never be the same.  Things are always changing and people are always changing.  You are never the same person that you were in the past.  You are hopefully becoming a better person and becoming more like Christ.  We are in this moment for a reason.  I went to a cooking class and question and answer session at the Horner house tonight and somebody asked if there was the one guy for you and what happened if you didn’t get the one or if he chose the wrong one.  Dr. Stovall was answering the question and I think essentially she was saying that God has planned all of our days.  I think she was saying we don’t need to worry necessarily about choosing the wrong major or the wrong guy because we don’t even know what is going to happen tomorrow.  We are in the place we are for a reason and it is to help us to grow and to become more like Christ.  We can’t go back and even if we could would we really want to? It probably wouldn’t even be the same and how it was before or how good we thought it was before might not even be the same anymore.  What we need to do is focus on, no matter how we feel whether happy or sad, being obedient to Christ in the moment.  We need to live our life every day asking how can we glorify God in this day and how can we glorify God in this moment.  As long as our life brings glory to God then nothing else matters.  We need to live our lives in reckless abandon, loving God and others and giving our lives to them without expecting anything in return.  Aloha y’all and let’s keep running the race!
