Southwestern and Dr. Adam Greenway

I am thankful for what God is doing at Southwestern and I am thankful that he brought Adam Greenway to Southwestern.  It almost makes me sad I’m almost graduating haha. I think I might almost have to finish with my MDiv missions degree after I graduate still haha.
 I’m thankful for his confidence in the Bible and the suffiency of Scripture.  I’m thankful for his heart for God and his passion for the gospel and his desire for our seminary to be a seminary that sends students out on mission.  I’m thankful for how he talked about how we can learn things from people we don’t agree with.  Today was an exciting day in the life of Southwestern.  To hear the president speak on his beliefs and desires to see the school grow and to see his heart and love for God was a blessing.   I love how he talked about how we are so concerned with isms but the one ism we should be really concerned with is evangelism! I love how he took a stand saying as long as he is president every student would go out and share the gospel! He said I’d he could he would have every student have a stamped passport before they graduate!  I would definitely support that! Y’all there is a world out there that needs Jesus! They need to know that Jesus loves them and what He did for them! How can we stay and watch when so many are dying without Christ?
Lately I’ve been learning more and more about making sure my heart is right before God.  Today we learned about Job from Dr. John Babler and how he didn’t sin with his lips but his heart attitude and his perspective changed.  We need to make sure our actions and our heart match what we claim to believe! We need to really live by the Bible and help others to do the same.  We need to ask God to help us to exam our hearts. We need to ask Him to help us to understand His Word and learn from Him! We need to go out and share the gospel with others so that they might come to know Jesus as their Savior.  We need to boldly stand up for the truth of the Bible knowing that it is sufficient and that His Word is all that we need!! Let’s live our lives for God being careful to obey Him and to walk closely with Him and to give Him the glory in our lives!

It’s a new year

Man I’ve turned 35.  I’m another year older. I guess it’s only downhill from here I guess or uphill haha.  I’d like to say I’m another year wiser and that I’m more like Christ and I definitely think I’m more like Christ. I think God has given me more wisdom also.  I’m just not anywhere near where I want to be.  Today was just another day really.  I didn’t really do much to celebrate it.  I went to Starbucks with a sweet friend who gave me a present.  I was kind of disappointed that I didn’t really have a party or anything even though other friends had had parties.  I realized that I was just being selfish and self focused. Sometimes I feel like I’m invisible or that people don’t notice me as much but even that is being self focused.  I was wanting a party so I could be with people and celebrate but I was also just wanting attention. My journey of Faith and how God has guided me

                           “A man’s heart plans his way but the Lord directs His steps.”  Proverbs 16:9 I’ve been thinking about this verse a lot lately and how true it has been in my life.  When I went home for Christmas after I graduated with my MDiv in Missions in December my plan was to find a biblical counseling internship somewhere.  I had looked different places but nothing had worked out. I looked on the biblical counseling website which is the website for the Association of Certified Biblical Counseling.  I had looked at Washington and it didn’t work out and I looked in Oregon and one of the first names I saw was Mitch Lamotte.  On December 29 I emailed Mitch Lamotte from Southwest Hills Baptist Church about doing a biblical counseling internship at their church.  He told me about the biblical counseling pastor at the church, Kerry Francetice. ...
